AxiDermTM
branding, product design & full-stack dev
AxiDermTM is the clinical-tool suite inside The Allergic DogTM, the educational platform founded by Dr. Meagan Painter, a board-certified veterinary dermatologist. It gives general-practice vets specialist-level decision support for canine allergic skin and ear disease.
Ten interactive tools to choose the right drug, read a cytology score, gauge infection risk or work through a differential. We designed and implemented the system that makes that expertise usable, legible, accessible and consistent across every tool and screen.
Specialist knowledge, in everyday hands.
How do you hand a specialist's judgment to someone who never trained for it? That was the brief. Meagan is the domain authority, and the medicine is hers. Our job was to translate dense, expert reasoning into tools a general-practice vet can trust at a glance, in the middle of a real appointment, on any screen.
Ten different tools that all had to feel like one.
Nothing here is decoration. A vet is making a real call about a real animal, so every choice had to be unambiguous, accessible and credible.
Ten tools that behave nothing alike, a two-axis drug map, a locked wizard, a coverage matrix, a score selector, still had to read as one product. And colour couldn't lie: in the drug maps, the wrong shade tells a vet two unrelated drugs are the same. They aren't.
One brand, one system, one team.
We took the existing branding and defined the sub-brand. The colour, the icons, the visual language of the tools, and then built it as a token-driven component library that all ten tools assemble from.
Design and engineering sat in the same team, so what we designed is exactly what shipped, with nothing lost across the wall. Meagan's expertise stayed the star. Our system made sure nothing got in its way.
A living system, built to hand over.
A brand and a working product: 262 colour tokens and around 70+ component sets, ten tools sorted into five colour-coded categories so a vet always knows where they are. Two drug-map colour systems, AA-compliant across desktop, tablet and mobile, implemented front-end, with documentation clear enough that design and code stay in step.

The result is one coherent product across ten high-stakes tools, branded, accessible, and built on a system where design and code share a single source of truth.
